By the time Lizz Adair was 21 she already weighed 18 stone and was a size 20.
Living on a diet of takeaways, baguettes, crisps and family size chocolate bars, the mother-of-two from Middleton-On-The Wolds, Yorkshire, was eating herself in to an early grave.
By 2022, aged 39, she weighed in at 22 stone, and wore a size 28.
According to the pet food company owner, her diet was taking a toll on her relationship and her libido was at rock bottom – any romantic moments were ’emotionless’ and over quickly.
But after deciding to take back control of her weight and her life, Lizz, 42, decided to take the plunge and began using weight loss jabs.
Within two years, Lizz told The Sun she had transformed her look, shedding almost 12 stone and falling in love with her self once again.
But slimming down wasn’t the only result of her weight-loss journey: the business owner found that along with her new lease of life she had an increased libido.
With her new, younger boyfriend, she had a renewed love for sex and began enjoying hour-long romps.

Lizz’s decision to try prescription weight-loss drugs was not one she took lightly.
After battling with comfort eating for several years, the mother-of-two wanted to return to the slim frame she had many years ago.
She explained that her struggles with weight began 25 years ago when she made the huge decision to uproot herself and move to Market Weighton live with her fiancé Ben* at the age of 18.
While she had made the move for her partner, she quickly found herself lonely and isolated and within three years, Lizz had put on nine stone, going from a slim size 10 to a size 20.
She explained she would often skip breakfast and have a baguette and crisps for lunch, before snacking on cakes and crisps all afternoon. For dinner she would tuck in to takeaways and finish her evening with a family-sized Galaxy bar.
Lizz confessed that throughout this period she tried to stick to diets but found they didn’t work and was so ashamed of her weight gain she would go to extreme lengths to avoid being recognised.
She said: ‘I tried going on diets, but could never stick to them. I was so ashamed, I’d drive to the next village to go to the supermarket for fear of bumping into anybody I knew.’
The mother-of-two weighed 22 stone at her heaviest but after splitting from her husband she decided to make a change and spent £150 a month on a prescription for Saxenda
But Lizz decided to try and make a change to prepare for her wedding to Ben in 2014, sticking to the 5:2 intermittent fasting diet to drop down to a size 18 and 17st 7lbs.
Then less than a year later in August 2015, she was delighted to find out she was pregnant with her daughter.
While the entrepreneur had managed to keep the weight off after her nuptials, following the birth of her little girl she returned to old habits and her binge-eating became even worse.
‘I went back to my old ways and the weight started piling on again,’ she said.
‘My eating got worse and I would eat full packs of fondant fancies and family size trifles.’
The Yorkshire native confessed that her extra weight severely impacted her mental health and sex drive, and she stopped socialising.
She added that because she was so embarrassed about her body, she also stopped having sex and on the three occasions a year when her and her partner did get romantic, it was over quickly and was often emotionless.
Lizz confessed that she quickly resigned herself to believing it would always be this way but a shock split was the wake-up call she needed.
The Yorkshire native confessed that her extra weight severely impacted her mental health and sex drive and stopped her from socialising, meanwhile her relationship also took a backseat
The business owner and her husband Ben parted ways in December 2021, just six months after the birth of their little boy.
While the split was amicable, Lizz decided she needed to make some serious changes and splashed out £150 a month on Saxenda, a weight loss drug from Boots.
In March 2022 she filled out an online form and found that having a BMI higher than 27 meant she met the criteria for the jab and has never looked back.
The mother-of-two revealed that initially the prescription was only available on the NHS for those waiting for bariatric surgery, a type of weight-loss surgery that involves reducing the size of the stomach or digestive system.
But it would have meant a months-long waiting list and Lizz felt she had no time to spare.
Initially concerned about the monthly cost, Lizz revealed that the jabs did the trick, suppressing her appetite meaning she avoided takeaways and found the prescription easily affordable now she was no longer wasting money on junk food.
After ditching her bad diet and hitting the gym alongside using weight loss injections, Lizz decided it was time to put herself back out there and met her fiancé Jack Atherton
She added that it helped her break the cycle of bingeing and she was able to transform her life.
‘I’d done a thousand diets before and never lost weight. I wouldn’t be in this position now if I hadn’t used them, I’d still be eating myself into an early grave,’ she said.
And with her confidence back she decided to put herself out there and start dating again.
1,000 Tinder matches in a week
In no time at all, after uploading a few pictures of herself to dating website Tinder, Lizz was inundated with matches.
She said: ‘Just looking for a bit of fun, I uploaded photos from a recent trip to Ibiza and I described myself as a “BBL” – a big beautiful lady.
‘I was terrified no one would fancy me, so I couldn’t believe it when I had 1,000 matches in a week!’
And one of those matches was Jack Atherton, then 30, who was nine years Lizz’s junior – but that didn’t stop them.
The pair chatted for three weeks and then went on their first date in York which Lizz described as amazing, adding cheekily that their first kiss was ‘incredible’.

The mother-of-two and the personal trainer then took things up a notch.
Lizz said she couldn’t keep her hands off her new boyfriend, so much so that they started meeting up in hotel rooms to have sex.
She admitted that at first she struggled with her confidence around him but soon found the reassurance she needed and said her sex life has never been better.
She said: ‘In the beginning I was still embarrassed about my body but being with a man with such a young, hot body was such a turn on. I still couldn’t believe he fancied me though, even when he reassured me.’
By January 2024, Lizz had slimmed back down to a size 10 and weighed 10st 8lbs.
The pet food company owner said that Saxenda was partly to thank along with a change in diet and regular gym sessions, but she also admitted that her sex life has helped her stay so svelte.
Lizz’s fiancé has said he is extremely proud of his partner while Lizz herself admitted she was sad to have wasted so many years hiding away and hating herself
Lizz explained that having sex at least five times a week has kept her slim and added that with foreplay and role play, her and Jack can sometimes spend up to six hours on a session – with the mother-of-two donning a variety of outfits to ‘spice things up’.
While there were sparks in the bedroom, Lizz still felt embarrassed being seen out on dates with her new boyfriend, worried people would stop and stare but she quickly stopped worrying.
But within two months Lizz said her family had fallen in love with him and her children had given her the green light.
New life
In December of last year, Jack proposed and the couple are now planning their wedding for May.
Lizz’s fiancé has said he is extremely proud of his partner, while Lizz herself admitted she was sad to have wasted so many years hiding away and hating herself.
With the help of her personal trainer partner, the entrepreneur is hoping to maintain her current fitness regime.
Gone are the takeaways and mindless snacking and instead Lizz eats omelette and salad for lunch and chicken with vegetables for dinner and goes to the gym three times a week.
She has since given up on the weight-loss injections with the encouragement and support of Jack and now follows a personalised diet and fitness plan.
She said her friends and family barely recognise her now and she feels like a new person.
